Who Are We

For over fifty years, Syāmarānī dāsī has dedicated her life to translating the ineffable into the visible. Her paintings are not mere illustrations, they are acts of devotion, meditations on scripture, and invitations to remember.

Trained in classical Indian aesthetics and deeply rooted in the bhakti tradition, her work bridges worlds: the ancient and the contemporary, the transcendent and the intimate. She has exhibited internationally, with her 2025 retrospective Mantra & Melody at Miami Dade College marking a defining moment in the recognition of devotional art in contemporary spaces.

Today, her legacy continues through the Sacred Vedic Arts foundation, where her paintings, writings, and teachings inspire seekers and collectors around the world.

I’m not religious, but I’ve always been drawn to devotional art. I found Syāmarānī’s work through an Instagram post that stopped my scroll completely — it was her ‘Flute Song’ painting.
